The Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels are a part of Zipp’s mission to create a balance of great aerodynamics and stability. This Firecrest version comes in at a lower price than NSW without adding a significant amount of weight. Zipp calls this combination of attributes “AeroBalance.” Without proper control, there is really no use to aerodynamics on a road bike, so the 303 Firecrest wheels focus on both for confident speed. The design of the rim allows these wheels to be aerodynamically optimal with 25mm tubeless clincher tires, helping balance ride quality with speed. The Firecrest version of these wheels utilizes a ZR1 hub which provides low rolling resistance and excellent durability while lowering the overall price.

On top of its amazing speed, the Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels are extremely durable and reliable. They have a lightweight carbon layup but can still withstand the punishment of long training days, Gran Fondos, and even cobblestone roads. To make these wheels even more useful in non-ideal conditions, Zipp used their patented Showstopper Brake Track. Showstopper offers excellent modulation and a very short stopping distance, even in wet conditions. Running tubeless tires will also lead to more durability with top-notch flat protection.
