2022 TREK SUPERCALIBER 9.8 GX MOUNTAIN BIKE
Trek’s Supercaliber 9.8 GX Mountain Bike offers World Cup winning XC speed thanks to its carbon frame with clever IsoStrut suspension design which gives 60mm of travel without the usual weight and stiffness penalties. This is enough travel to keep the wheels glued to the ground for great traction and to protect the rider from fatigue-inducing bumps whilst still offering the kind of efficiency and pace usually only associated with a hardtail. Complementing the frame, FOX’s Performance 32 Step-Cast Float EVOL air spring fork has 100mm of perfectly damped travel, helping both comfort and handling at speed.

The SRAM GX 12-speed groupset utilises a huge 10-52t cassette for a massive range of gears from the 1x drivetrain whilst the Shimano XT M8100 hydraulic disc brakes offer equally impressive stopping performance for greater control and confidence. Both the Bontrager Kovee Elite 30 carbon wheels and XR2 Team Issue tyres are ready for conversion to use without inner tubes, and the wide 30mm rims offer great support for the tyres through rock gardens and when cornering hard. Carbon is also the material of choice for the seatpost and handlebar in keeping with the bike’s performance credentials, keeping the weight down and adding another level of compliance.
